The main focus  today should be SMART- CASUAL WARDROBE that is multifunctional –  stylishly chic  and comfortable at the same time. Our style is downplayed right now but can still have clear visual presence.

As we continue to be  physically restricted , with fewer formal occasions and many people often working from home, we start to see our personal styles becoming more relaxed. This is not say that we shouldn’t care how we dress. We are just  transitioning to a wardrobe  that is  more casual and physically comfortable.

The trick is not too fall  into  the  sloppy and careless state of  being and  give up on your appearance.  Long -term it is not healthy and not good for your self-esteem and motivation.

So here are my top style tips to help you dress better in 2021. First of all, you need to have the right wardrobe staples at hand.  They will  help you create exciting and fresh looks every day and to look good at any social gathering without trying too hard.

So here are the things  you should try out :

Wide leg Pants to feel at ease but put together at the same time. Choose satin or silk fabrics to add sophistication to this relaxed cut. Neutral colours – black, navy, khaki, sand or off-white ( for summer). Small Geometric Pattern also possible. Style them with sneakers or mules.

Cuffed or side ruched pants are another great option. They are gathered around the ankle so always look neat  and tidy yet are comfortable  to move and lounge around. Choose between silk or satin for lux look or cotton and jersey for comfort.

Looser Tops in natural or synthetic fabrics but with interesting tailoring. Try cold shoulder tops, petal or soft ruffle sleeves, cowl necks or twist tops. Choose tops that can be tucked in as well as worn out depending on the outfit and style of your bottoms.

Trendy sneakers , mules and slides to suit your personal preferences.  Sneakers can be platform, faux leather, brightly coloured in your favourite brands and allow you to squeeze some exercise into your day. Mules or  slides can be open or closed toe in tan, nude, navy, bronze or other versatile neutral colours.  Bright and unusual colours or animal patterns work great too if you keep your outfit more neutral.

Interesting Accessories if you need to dress it up instantly  – long chain or statement necklaces , bracelets or earrings .

Have some Layering Staples – such as Light Buttonless Blazers, Long Cardigans and Kimonos.

Own a Biker Jacket for colder windy days or cooler evenings – nude, tan or black. It is a super  essential  in your wardrobe – timeless and ageless as it works for anyone from 20 to 60+ years old.

Knitted pencil dresses in neutral colours – comfortable due to their stretchy quality yet fitted and feminine. Choose the fabric according to climate and environment. Long or midi ( below knee) are more in trend now. But mid-thigh mini length is also acceptable and looks great when layered  with a longer cardigan.

Neutral handbags or clutches – black, nude, tan, navy or bronze are the most versatile colours that will work with many different outfits.
